6th: Amal Jacobson

A Progressive School alumni (class of 1997), Amal has involved himself in Neohumanist studies for nearly his entire life. After high school Amal moved to Europe where he attended the Center for Neohumanist Studies in Sweden. Returning to the USA, he received his B.A. from SUNY New Paltz. There he got his start teaching classes on philosophy, political science and literature at the Honors program, from which he was selected as their outstanding graduate of the year. Since that time Amal has taught on the subject of Neohumanism in dozens of locations all across the world. A recent Masters degree graduate of the California Institute of Integral Studies, Amal is extremely excited to be a part of the Progressive School family once again.  Partly due to his influence, we deemed 2016-2017 to be the Year of Integral Learning, and 2017-2018 to be the Year of Integral Ecology.

In his free time, Amal is an avid hiker, writer, reader and nature photographer.
