Read MoreVid of the Week Upcoming: Our first field trips are upcoming this week for grades 2 and 4. Our staff development days are critical to our ability to serve you at our best. There are only two in a year (both are now complete), and we schedule them so as to cause a minimum impact to the calendar. Week at a glance: Monday- closed for Columbus Day Tuesday- closed for Staff Development Wednesday- Pizza Day; 2nd trip leaves at 9:30; Art Club (5-8) Thursday- Rock Band, Robotics for teams 4,5, MS Friday- 4th trip leaves at 10; Breakfast Band @8am Best Links: Stop and Shop A+ School Rewards (you food shop, they donate) Scrabble Club (grades 5-6), starts 10/15 Hot Lunch, starts 10/3 Messages: SAVE THE DATE!!! October 26th @7pm–Fundraising Halloween Party at Nunley’s Carousel. HOMEWORK: If your child is in grades K-4, and homework is a problem, we are very flexible! Some parents want more homework, some want less, some want none! We believe that some homework in the early grades is essential for learning new skills but we do make adjustments to accommodate personal requests. Please let the teachers know if you are having any issues with the homework so that we can explore modifications if needed. DOCTOR’s APPOINTMENTS: Please make these outside of school hours!!! The frequency and timing of these are starting to cause major disruptions to learning. Review: Hands-on science goes on at Progressive right from Kindergarten. Most school don’t offer hands-on science until 4th grade. In the video, we see demo in 1t grade of what soap does to water tension.
