April

It’s Spring, so let’s PLAY! Happy Easter to all our families and friends! This month is so special at our school. We have so many things going on and all of them wonderful and fun. The days and weeks ahead will be filled with rehearsals, concerts and unique events that only happen at Progressive. For me, it is my favorite time of the year because the routine is different and I get to see the students in a different light. Each grade or group of students will be working towards one or more of the following: Spring Concert, Earth Day, their own class play, Invention Convention/Science Fair and World Day and I am sure I am missing a few. This is teamwork at its best. We all have to work together to achieve a goal and the kids really do rise to the occasion. Grades k-8 All of us are working towards the above-mentioned activities. We greatly appreciate all the parents continued support of our students, staff and community. Let’s enjoy the best time of the year together! Regards, Mr. Bruce

Pics of the Week Upcoming:  Happy April everyone!  It feels like winter is finally over.  We are entering the most fun part of the year filled with special events.  Keep up and tell others to keep up with the website–the best source for up-to-date information both along the right-hand column→ and also on the full CALENDAR. Week at a glance:  Monday:   closed Tuesday:  Quiet time for all grades Wednesday:  PIZZA DAY; 2-4 STEM Club; Tolkien Club Thursday:  Quiet time for all grades; 5-8 STEM Club; Rock Band Friday:  Quiet time for all grades; Breakfast Band; 2/3/6 trip leaves @ 11:15 Best Links:  IT IS TIME TO WATCH THE CALENDAR!!!  Messages:  ABSENCES:  Please let us know immediately why your child is absent, especially if it involves any suspected contagious illness such as FLU, STREP THROAT, COVID, etc. Review:  Last week while school was closed, I relocated a family of squirrels that was nesting under our middle school solar roof, chewing the wires, and damming up water with nesting debris, causing leaks into the social studies room.  I saved the school a ton of money, saved a family of squirrels, and overcame my fear of heights.  In the pic you can see the papa squirrel emerging from under the solar panels to check out my non-lethal trap baited with apple and peanut butter.  The space under the panels was protected by a critter guard, but he simply bent it away to create a doorway to his private domain.  In the next pic he is getting a ride to a nice wooded area far away!  I caught four of them during the break this way.  Next, the solar company can now come to fix our solar panel wiring.
