Administrator: Benay Deitman
Benay, her husband, and two children, have been a part of the Progressive School family for 40 years. She first joined the staff as a part-time parent volunteer when her son Dustin, started here in kindergarten in 1986. Dustin graduated from Progressive, but Benay remained. Her granddaughters graduated Progressive School and are now in high school and college.
For the last 36 years as a full-time administrator, she has efficiently fulfilled many roles: information officer, secretary, nurse, confidante, teacher assistant, procurement supervisor, transportation director, and of course, Eric’s right-hand.
Everyday Benay provides the glue that holds our little school tight. She is the first one you will speak to when you contact the school, and if your child graduates from Progressive, you will surely hear Benay’s name mentioned on the final day of graduation. She is a loved and constant figure for all who attend.
